Macadam / Asphalt Tennis Surface
We offer this court surface to private individuals, schools, colleges and sports clubs across Sussex, Kent and the South East.
Macadam is by far the most popular tennis surface around today and is widely used in schools, homes, clubs and public places across the UK. Macadam courts typically use a 50mm base layer of aggregates and with a wearing top course. This gives the sports facility a stable and level surface: ideal for both tennis and multi-use games areas.
Macadam surfaces are porous and have an open texture which allows for drainage of surface water. The permeable nature is perfect for the United Kingdom as the weather is often unpredictable. With a macadam tennis court, play can resume soon after rainfall, allowing you to get more use from the tennis court. Macadam surfaces are coated in polyurethane paint and their low maintenance makes them a good alternative to artificial grass or polymeric rubberised surfacing
