3G Synthetic Grass
We offer the synthetic grass 3G surface to private individuals, schools and sports clubs across Sussex, Kent and the South East.
The 3G surface is a long pile synthetic grass with a pile height of between 40 and 65mm. This is typically filled with a combination of sand and a performance infill.
We can install 3G over a variety of sub-bases including tarmac, and compacted stone. Pro Sport Surfaces can also add a shock-pad layer underneath the 3G surface to add comfort or to comply with certain sport regulations / governing bodies. Shock-pads reduce injuries like tackling and sliding.
The 3G surface consists of three elements.

- Sand Infill
- Rubber Infill
The most common sports played on this surface type are:
- Football
- Rugby
- Cricket Batting Pitches
3G is not suitable for Hockey Pitches as a hockey ball sinks into the pile of this type of pitch and the pile causes more frictional drag on a hockey ball.
