All Weather Pitch Construction

Serving Sussex, Kent & the South East. Individuals,Schools, Colleges and Sports Clubs

Throughout the sports world, synthetic and third-generation (3G) turf and other types of high-performance surfaces are fast becoming the preferred choices for all-weather pitches. Sports centres, clubs and academies alike are making the most of their versatility and durability.

Family Run & CSCS Certified

Our family orientated company prides itself on delivering the highest possible standard of construction. With over 35 years of experience in the business, our team will oversee every job from the planning stages to the finished product. All foremen that work on-site are CSCS certified and maintain a high standard of workmanship.

High-quality synthetic turf and 3G pitches ensure excellent availability, seven days a week – including late into the evening, with floodlighting. Thus, they maximise sports club revenue while featuring superior performance characteristics for match play, thanks to their adherence to standards set by the International Rugby Board and Hockey Federation as well as football’s governing bodies, FIFA and UEFA.

If your current pitch no longer meets the demands of regular play, it might be possible to deep clean and rejuvenate it sufficiently to obtain a few extra years of service. Eventually, however, a replacement surface becomes necessary. Nowadays, all-weather construction and surfacing options are more varied than ever. Our experts will be glad to advise and guide you on your choices for a new weather-resistant pitch.

All Year Round Sports Pitch Options

If you are looking to obtain maximum availability and usage from your new sports pitch, let us help. We offer a complete service, from initial site surveys and planning through to design approval, expert construction and fine finishing.

Thanks to advances in materials technology and resurfacing techniques, today’s cost-effective options include:

  • Acrylic and polymeric surfacing.
  • 3G rubber crumb, also known as needle-punched 3G grass.
  • Sand-dressed artificial turf.
  • Sand-filled artificial grass.
  • Tarmacadam.

3G sports pitches and MUGAs (multiple use games areas) are replacing the old astroturf surfaces. Most all-weather sports pitches are three thousand square metres or more in area. Importantly, they feature adequate drainage to enable outdoor play all year round, even during periods of inclement weather.

You might select a 3G artificial surfaces or synthetic turf for your new all-weather five-a-side, football and rugby pitch, for instance. In contrast, tarmacadam and acrylic-based surfaces work well for games such as netball and tennis.

Where applicable during the refurbishment of all-weather pitches, we use a turf muncher machine to remove old sand and rubber from the artificial grass. Beneficially for the environment, this specialist machinery ensures maximum recycling of the worn-out material.

Superior Construction and Performance

To assure top performance and a competitive edge during play on your new pitch, we adhere to the highest standards during all stages of construction, from installing site drainage to finishing the surface and line marking. Your new pitch will be durable and able to withstand extreme weather conditions.

Saving Space with a MUGA

Significantly, MUGAs are a popular alternative to all-weather pitches, especially for indoor or outdoor games practice and training areas in leisure centres and educational establishments when space is at a premium. Sometimes called multi-educational games surfaces, the versatility and flexibility of MUGAs enables practice sessions and play for a variety of sports such as mini-tennis, badminton, basketball, netball and hockey.

Our team of experts will be glad to advise on MUGA installation if you are considering this option.
